We recently used Williams and Donovan to sell our property, and also ended up purchasing our new home with them. We decided to go with Williams and Donovan to list our property because they were very honest in their valuation of our property and took time to explain the importance of not over valuing the property as other estate agents we looked at had, and also the statistics they have in selling properties in the area were way above the rest of their competitors. They were very helpful throughout the Sales process calling us to provide feedback on viewings promptly, and arranging them at our convenience. Once our property had sold we were looking for a new home to buy. Just like with the Sales they were able to organise viewings of properties for us to buy in a professional manner. Fantastic company to work with. We jumped on the end of a long chain very last minute. We were undecided whether to sell or not. After sitting down with them for half an hour we had made a decision. They then took on the task of finding us the perfect house which they managed within a week. We are quite specific with what we like and they took it all in. The knew exactly what we wanted and they found it. The whole team made the process as stress free as possible and made sure nobody was hanging around unnecessarily. We put up for sale, sold and moved within 11 weeks. That’s with Christmas in the middle. Fantastic team of people that really know the market!!

We agreed our sale back in June to a chain of four. Unfortunately for us, the agent at the bottom was an internet agent who clearly did not understand what they should have been doing. It transpired 3 months in that they hadn't even seen proof of funding and it was only due to the diligence and persistence of Lloyd and Lynn at Williams & Donovan, that we got any answers. Even on the day of completion, the woman at the bottom had not transferred her funds, and the completion went through at 8 minutes to 5. If ever there was an advertisement as to why you should choose a traditional agent over an online one, this was it. Can't thank the team at Williams & Donovan enough and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Lloyd at Williams and Donovan (Benfleet) was supportive and informative from the moment he came to value our property. Photographs were taken immediately, house particulars were drawn up within a day or two, energy reports were arranged and a buyer was found within days of putting our house on the market. From then on most of my dealings were with Lynn at the Benfleet office, and this lady certainly knows what she is doing. Handled the protracted sale of our property well in difficult circumstances. The agent at the bottom (an internet agent) of a chain of four, had failed to see proof of funds until W&D chased them over 3 months in to the sale. The buyer at the bottom used a number of delaying tactics including changing solicitors. Lloyd and Lynn both persevered in trying to get answers and tried hard to deal with an inadequate company to get clarity for us as the vendors, and liaised with the agent immediately below ours to try to resolve the problem.

The problem with internet agents is that they have few sales progressors with any experience, and that the conveyancing companies they recommend are also similar - both are just call centres dealing with scripts so, if your sale falls outside of the script, they are ill equipped to deal with it.

If W&D had not been thoroughly proactive in pushing this sale forward, I have no doubt we'd still be waiting to exchange now, 6 months on from point of sale.
